Unboxing:

1.Remove packaging materials

2.Plug in the printer, and turn it on.

3.Open the front panel and install the cartridges. 

4.Load preferred paper into the tray.

Printer’s step by step setup guide is as under:

Setting it up on Windows:

  1. Use an Ethernet cable for wired network connection
  2. Download drivers from the bottom of the page
  3. Launch HP Smart or the downloaded installer to detect the printer.
  4. Complete setup steps including network detection and driver installation.
  5. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners > Add a printer.
  6. Print Test Page: Verify installation by printing a test page.

Setting it up on Mac:

  1. Use an Ethernet cable for wired connection or configure wireless via printer’s control panel if supported.
  2. Download drivers from the bottom of the page
  3. Open the downloaded file and follow on-screen instructions to install the software.
  4. Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners. Click the ‘+’ button to add the printer.
  5. Choose the LaserJet Pro 3104FDN from the list 
  6. Confirm setup by printing a test page.

Setting it up on Chromebook:

  1. Use an Ethernet cable for wired connection  via printer control panel if available.
  2. Ensure Chromebook is connected to the same network as the printer.
  3. Click the clock, then the gear icon to open Settings.
  4. Scroll down to Advanced > Printing > Printers.
  5. Click Add Printer; Chromebook will search for available printers on the network.
  6. Select HP LaserJet Pro 3104FDN: Choose your printer from the list.
  7. Fill in any required details and save.
  8. Open a document and print to confirm setup.

Setting it up on Android:

  1. Use Ethernet  on the printer’s control panel
  2. Ensure your phone/tablet is on the same wired network as the printer.
  3. Go to Google Play Store, search for HP Smart, and install it.
  4. Open HP Smart: Launch the app and accept permissions.
  5. Tap the ‘+’ icon or Add Printer, then select your LaserJet Pro 3104FDN from the list.
  6. Complete any configuration steps shown in the app.
  7. Use the app to print a test page and verify connection.

Setting it up on iOS:

  1. Use Ethernet on the printer control panel.
  2. Make sure your iPhone or iPad is connected to the same  network as the printer.
  3. Open the App Store, search for HP Smart, and install it.
  4. Open HP Smart App: Launch the app and allow necessary permissions.
  5. Tap the plus (+) icon or Add Printer and select the LaserJet Pro 3104FDN from the detected devices.
  6. Complete the setup within the app.
  7. Use the app to print a test page to confirm connection.

Troubleshooting Options

  • Check the power

Check the printer plug and the wall outlet both are securely connected

  • Check the cartridges

Make sure the ink cartridges are placed correctly. Also make sure that there is enough ink and that the cartridges fit the model of your printer

  • Check paper

If the papers are not arranged correctly, take out the paper tray and straighten them up. Make sure there are no jams in the printer. You can now shut off the paper tray.

  • Check Wi-Fi connection

Ensure that your printer and device are connected to the same network.

Make sure that the Wi-Fi is stable

  • Reset the printer

Resetting the printer can resolve many issues

  • Update printer drivers

If the drivers are outdated, check for newer ones
