Setting Up Your HP DesignJet 10ps Printer
The HP DesignJet 10ps is a dedicated small-format photo and graphics printer featuring built-in PostScript capabilities. Setup is streamlined by using a USB or standard network connection and installing the specific color-aware drivers.
1. Initial Printer Setup (For All Users)
Follow these steps to prepare the physical printer.
- Unpack and Prepare: Carefully remove the printer from the box and take off all protective packaging materials, tapes, and foam inserts.
- Install Printheads and Ink Cartridges: Open the access cover. The DesignJet 10ps uses four separate, high-quality Printheads and four Ink Cartridges (Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow).
- Install Supplies: Insert the printheads first, followed by the corresponding color ink cartridges, ensuring they click securely into their slots. Close the access cover.
- Load Paper: Open the input tray. Place a stack of photo paper or specialty media into the tray. Adjust the paper width guides to gently secure the paper stack.
- Connect Power: Plug the power cord into the printer and a wall outlet. Press the Power button to turn the printer on. The printer will initialize and run an automatic printhead alignment routine.
2. Wired Connection (USB or Network)
The 10ps is best connected via USB for a single user or Ethernet for a workgroup.
